Lead Abatement

While in some cases lead-based paint that is in good condition is not a hazard, most of the time, lead-based paint is a threat to your children. The dangers of lead-based paint are present even before a child is born and can go undetected in children who generally seem to be in good health. These apparently healthy kids may still have high levels of lead in their bodies. It’s extremely important for homeowners to know that removing lead-based paint improperly can increase the danger to your family.

Lead can get into your body in many ways: by breathing lead dust, swallowing lead dust or actual lead paint chips, even tiny flakes. One less obvious lead hazard that people rarely mention is the soil in the yard may contain risky levels of lead and children can accidentally ingest soil during play.

If you own a home or office built before 1978 your children may be exposed to dangerous lead-based paint. Even after 1978 some lead-based products were still being used illegally so it is important to have your property tested for the unhealthy levels of lead.
